Manufacturing facilities rely on accurate, real-time information to maintain productivity, monitor performance, and keep operations running efficiently. For Ohio Nut and Bolt, we developed a custom display solution that combines multiple production displays into a single, network-controlled enclosure while maintaining independent control of each display.

This custom project was built around our proven DC-25T-DN-UP-Static platform. Rather than utilizing a single display, the system incorporates five individually addressable digital displays mounted within one enclosure. The result is a centralized visual management system capable of displaying multiple production metrics simultaneously while requiring only a single Wi-Fi connection and one network interface.

Five Displays, One Network Connection

One of the most unique aspects of this project is the ability to control five separate displays through a single network connection. Each display has its own network address, allowing different information to be sent to each section independently.

This design reduces installation complexity while providing maximum flexibility. Production supervisors can display separate values for different departments, production goals, quality metrics, output totals, or any other operational data that needs to be visible on the factory floor.

By consolidating multiple displays into one enclosure, Ohio Nut and Bolt gains a streamlined monitoring solution that minimizes hardware requirements while maximizing visibility.

Flexible Display Functionality

Although this project is primarily being used for static numerical displays, the DC-25T-DN-UP-Static platform is capable of much more than displaying fixed values.

The system can operate as:

• Static number displays
• Count-up timers
• Countdown timers
• Time-of-day clocks
• Production counters
• Network-controlled visual indicators

This flexibility allows facilities to adapt the displays to changing operational requirements without replacing hardware.

For example, a display used today for production totals could later be configured as a countdown timer for shift activities or as a real-time clock for employee visibility.

Addressable Display Technology

Each display within the enclosure operates independently through unique network addressing. This means information can be sent to one display without affecting the others.

Once connected to the network, display values can be updated remotely from a computer, software platform, PLC, manufacturing database, or custom application capable of sending UDP network commands.

This approach provides significant advantages for facilities that want to avoid extensive wiring runs while maintaining reliable communication with multiple displays.
