Programmable Production Pace Monitoring

The custom system utilizes a DC-Keypad-24 remote controller, allowing operators to easily program both the production duration and the desired quantity of products to be manufactured. During setup, the display enters duration mode, enabling the user to establish the time period in which a specified number of parts should be completed.

Once the production quantity has been entered, the DC-10C-2-EFF-KEY-PACE-AUTO automatically calculates the rate required to achieve that goal. The planned production section then increments automatically, creating a moving target that operators can compare against actual production output.

This provides Tube Fab Roman Engineering with a dynamic production pacing system rather than simply a standard counter.

Real-Time Efficiency Calculations

As products are manufactured, the actual count is updated and compared to the planned count. The efficiency display continuously calculates the relationship between the two values and presents the result as a percentage.

This real-time efficiency measurement allows operators and supervisors to instantly determine whether production is ahead of schedule, on pace, or falling behind. The dedicated efficiency display can indicate percentages up to 200%, providing additional insight into overall productivity.

Automatic Product Detection

To eliminate the need for manual count inputs, the custom scoreboard incorporates a diffused reflective object sensor. Installed near a conveyor or production line, the sensor automatically detects passing products and increments the actual count.

This automated counting method helps improve accuracy while reducing operator involvement. With sensing distances reaching up to 16 feet, the system can easily be adapted to a variety of manufacturing processes and conveyor arrangements.

Visual ANDON Status Indication

Another important feature incorporated into the design is the multicolor ANDON light. When actual production reaches or exceeds 90 percent of the planned production rate, the indicator changes to green, providing immediate visual confirmation that manufacturing objectives are being met.

This highly visible status indication enables supervisors and production personnel to monitor performance at a glance without having to constantly study the display.

The DC-10C-2-EFF-KEY-PACE-AUTO provides several convenient functions for day-to-day operation:

The planned and actual sections each contain four digits capable of counting up to 9,999, while the efficiency section uses three digits capable of displaying percentages up to 200%.

All external devices, including the object sensor and keypad controller, are connected through dedicated terminal blocks located inside the enclosure. This arrangement simplifies installation and provides easy access for maintenance and future modifications.
