The DC-256T-UP-3-ANDON-Process is a fully integrated factory production process timer designed to give management clear, accurate visibility into workflow performance. Built as three independent timers housed within one durable cabinet, this system tracks Working, Idle, and Problem time separately—while ensuring only one timer can operate at a time. This eliminates overlap, prevents discrepancies, and delivers precise production data without lag between process changes.
In a typical operation, the Working timer begins counting up as production starts. If operators pause for a break or lunch, pressing the Idle button immediately stops the Working timer and starts the Idle timer. If an issue occurs on the line, pressing the Problem button stops Idle (or Working) and activates the Problem timer. Because the system allows only one active timer at a time, transitions are seamless and accurate, giving supervisors reliable insight into exactly how production hours are being used.
For example, a completed job may show:
- 8 hours, 30 minutes, 36 seconds of Working time
- 31 seconds of Idle time
- 18 seconds of Problem time
With no delay between states, management receives true, real-time accountability of production activity.
The unit also features a three-color LED ANDON light system that provides instant visual indication of process status:
- Green LED: Working
- Yellow LED: Idle
- Red LED: Problem
Each status change is triggered by pressing one of the three clearly designated buttons on the environmentally sealed switch panel. The stainless steel front and waterproof, weather-resistant enclosure ensure durability in demanding industrial environments.
Resetting the system is simple and secure. A keyed reset switch located on the side returns all timers and the ANDON indicator to zero, preparing the unit for the next production cycle. This prevents unauthorized resets while maintaining process integrity.
Designed for flexibility and expansion, the DC-256T-UP-3-ANDON-Process can be configured for additional timers if more production states need to be tracked in the same format. The system supports multiple activation methods, including:
- Standard wired switches
- PLC integration using a PNP output (5–30V)
- Sensor-based activation for increased automation
Connection and installation are straightforward. The rear access panel is secured with four screws and provides access to clearly labeled terminal blocks for wiring termination. The unit includes a 25-foot cord and also features two ½-inch conduit knockouts for hardwired installations. Mounting is accomplished with adjustable keyhole-style tab hangers along an integrated rail system.
Constructed from extruded aluminum with an acrylic (LEXAN) front and durable vinyl labeling, every component of this system is produced and assembled in-house at our factory in Carlisle, Ohio. We manufacture the circuit boards, enclosures, labeling, and complete final assembly ourselves—ensuring quality control and long-term serviceability. The unit is factory serviceable and available with a standard 120V three-prong cord, optional junction box for hardwiring, or 24V DC operation upon request.
The DC-256T-UP-3-ANDON-Process delivers precise time tracking, visual production status, and expandable flexibility—all in one rugged, industrial-grade solution built for real-world manufacturing environments.
