This custom DC-25TZ-2+ Julian World Time Zone Clock was built for SVF Defense, a military supply company located in Kentucky. The purpose of this configuration is to provide clear, always-visible time references for two separate time zones while also displaying the Julian date. This allows personnel to quickly reference local time, Zulu time, and the current Julian day from a single, centralized display.

The clock is configured to show the local time of day alongside Zulu time, which is the standardized military time zone used for coordinated operations across multiple regions. The Julian date is displayed on the far left side of the enclosure and operates independently from the two time zones. Once set, the Julian date automatically increments every 24 hours, reducing the need for daily manual adjustments.

All time and date settings are handled manually using sealed momentary push button switches located on the top of the enclosure. This allows the user to configure and adjust the clock without the need for a network connection. Local time can be displayed in either 12-hour or 24-hour format using the dedicated format toggle. Pressing the switch once changes the format, and pressing it again reverts it back.

The local time hours are set by incrementing the display until the correct hour is reached. Minute adjustments are synchronized across both time zones, ensuring that local time and Zulu time remain aligned. Zulu hours can be adjusted independently, and Zulu minutes are set by pressing and holding the set button, which increments the minutes in 15-minute intervals for efficient configuration.

The Julian section allows the user to manually set the year and the Julian day. The year is adjusted by pressing and holding the Set Years button while incrementing or decrementing to the correct value. The Julian day can also be manually set, but once configured, it will automatically advance every 24 hours.

The DC-25TZ-2+ is housed in a rugged extruded aluminum enclosure that is black powder coated for durability and fingerprint resistance. The enclosure measures 31 inches wide, 7 inches tall, and 2 inches deep. Each section of the display uses super bright LED digits that can be viewed from up to 120 feet away, making it ideal for industrial and military environments.

Power is supplied through a 120 to 240 VAC wall adapter with a 6-foot cord. The clock includes dual AA battery backups that retain all time and date settings during a power outage. While the LED displays will turn off when power is lost, the internal memory preserves all settings until power is restored.

Mounting is done using five tear-slotted mounting tabs located on the back top of the enclosure, allowing for secure wall installation. Custom vinyl labeling is applied to clearly identify each time zone according to the customer’s specifications, ensuring fast and accurate readability.

Key features and configuration details:

  • Displays time of day for two separate time zones (local and Zulu)
