A production operation requiring a clear way to compare planned output with actual production can use the DC-Digital DC-25C-2-EFF-KEY-PACE production pace efficiency counter to monitor production activity in real time. This all-in-one LED display combines a planned production pace counter, an actual production counter, and an efficiency calculation into a single system. The result is a continuously updated visual indication of whether production is meeting the programmed pace. The “Planned” function establishes the production rate that the operation is expected to maintain. Using the included 24-key wired keypad programmer/controller, the production pace can be programmed according to the required manufacturing cycle. The system can automatically increment the planned count based on a programmed number of seconds per unit, with settings up to 9,999 seconds per unit. It can also be configured for production rates of up to 100 units per second or 1,000 units per minute. This allows the same display to be used for manufacturing processes with very different production speeds.

Once the planned pace is established, the display automatically advances the planned production count according to the selected timing interval. The keypad provides direct control over the production pace, including setting the timing, starting or stopping the pace, pausing the timer, and adjusting the actual count. With 25 feet of cable and an RJ-45 quick disconnect, the controller can be positioned away from the display where operators can conveniently access it while still maintaining a direct wired connection.

The “Actual” production count provides a separate measurement of the number of units actually produced. The system can accept a momentary contact closure from a switch or other control device, while the product configuration also supports NPN common-sink or PNP 5–30VDC inputs from equipment such as a relay, sensor, switch, or PLC. This makes the counter adaptable to manual production counting as well as automated counting applications where a machine or production sensor can provide the count signal.

For manual operation, the system can be equipped with a high-impact, heavy-duty palm switch mounted in a weather-resistant electrical junction box with 25 feet of cabling. The palm switch provides a straightforward method for an operator to increment the actual production count as each unit is completed. Wireless controllers and switches can also be used for applications where a wired control arrangement is less convenient.

The third operating function is “Efficiency,” which calculates the percentage difference between the actual production count and the planned production count. The efficiency value is displayed in real time and can indicate performance up to 200%. This gives production personnel an immediate visual reference for how actual output compares with the programmed production target rather than requiring the planned and actual counts to be manually compared.

The display uses super-bright 621nm red LED digits with a 2.3-inch digit height and a viewing distance of approximately 120 feet. This provides a highly visible production status display for manufacturing areas where operators and supervisors need to see production information from a distance. The aluminum enclosure is finished with a tough, fingerprint-resistant black powder coating and measures approximately 16 inches wide by 15.75 inches tall by 2.25 inches deep. Two adjustable teardrop mounting tabs provide a practical method for installing the display in a production environment.

The DC-25C-2-EFF-KEY-PACE operates from 120–240VAC, 50–60Hz, with 24VDC operation available as an option. Its field-replaceable LED display and aluminum enclosure are designed for ongoing industrial use, while the system can be customized with different digit sizes for applications requiring greater viewing distances. DC-Digital lists additional production pace and efficiency configurations with 1-, 4-, 6-, 8-, 15-, and 30-inch LED digit heights.

By combining production targets, actual output, and efficiency into one continuously visible display, the DC-25C-2-EFF-KEY-PACE provides a practical way to monitor production pace directly at the point of operation. Its programmable timing, multiple actual-count input options, keypad controls, and real-time efficiency calculation allow it to be integrated into a wide range of manufacturing and production processes where maintaining a defined production rate is important.
