Today, we are showcasing the DC-25T-UP-TERM-NEMA with the DC-RELAY-NEMA-120 Refrigeration Ventilator Up-Timer. Airtech Equipment has reached out to DC-Digital for an Up-Timer that would help regulate workers in managing ventilation fans in their vegetable factory. This custom-built system is designed to give facilities an accurate and reliable way to monitor ventilation fans, ensuring workers know exactly how long the cooling or ventilation system has been operating and when it has been shut off. This feature is critical for both safety and efficiency in industrial and commercial environments.

The relay switch box is directly connected to the ventilation fan. When the fan powers on, the up-timer automatically begins counting, displaying the total runtime. When the fan powers off—whether due to being switched off or from a power outage—the timer pauses, and the end-of-period alarm begins flashing at the bottom of the display. This immediate visual signal helps workers quickly recognize downtime, reducing risks and keeping operations running smoothly.

Key functions include:

  • Accurate uptime display: Shows exactly how long the fan has been running.
  • End-of-period alarm: Flashes when the fan is powered down to alert workers.
  • Customizable hold time: Users can program how long the alarm flashes before resetting.
  • Shift Digit Technology: Displays time in seconds, minutes, or hours depending on duration.

The timing function is highly versatile. For example, the light can be set to blink for up to 99 minutes when the fan shuts down, giving staff early indication that something may be wrong. By pressing the built-in push button, users can easily adjust or reset the timer as needed.

The hardware is built for durability and performance. The system comes in two NEMA 4X polycarbonate IP-66 rated enclosures, ensuring protection against dust, moisture, and harsh conditions. The large 2.3-inch four-digit display can be read clearly from up to 120 feet away. Thanks to its Shift Digit Technology, the display automatically transitions from seconds to minutes, and eventually to hours, supporting timing up to 99 hours and 59 minutes.

Powering the unit is simple with two grounded three-prong connectors—one for the up-timer and another for the relay switch. Inside the relay box, a terminal block provides secure wiring for direct connection to the fan. For added reliability, the system is equipped with EEPROM memory retention, meaning programmed settings and alarm flash durations are stored even after power loss.

In short, the DC-25T-UP-TERM-NEMA with DC-RELAY-NEMA-120 provides a powerful monitoring solution for refrigeration and ventilation systems. By combining clear runtime tracking with an immediate alert system, this custom-built unit enhances both worker awareness and operational reliability.
