Installation is truly plug-and-play—simply place the marine-grade GPS receiver near a window or any location with a clear view of the sky, connect the power adapter, and the system immediately starts broadcasting accurate time information.
Unlike network-based systems, the GPS Atomic Master Clock requires no internet connection or network infrastructure. This allows facilities to maintain highly accurate time without involving the IT department or making changes to existing networks. The unit can drive over 100 wired clocks through 1,000 feet of 22-gauge wire or transmit wirelessly using a powerful 900 MHz radio system capable of reaching approximately 300 feet indoors and up to 1,500 feet outdoors.
The system continuously sends a time stamp once every second at 9600 baud, ensuring all secondary clocks remain synchronized with atomic accuracy. Facilities can select either 12-hour or 24-hour display formats, and four time zones are available to accommodate installations across different regions. Automatic Daylight Saving Time adjustment is also included and can be enabled or disabled by the user.
For applications requiring environmental monitoring, the GPS master clock can also distribute temperature information when paired with an optional temperature probe. This feature allows compatible displays to show both accurate time and ambient temperature throughout the facility.
Built around a durable polycarbonate clamshell enclosure, the compact master clock measures only 4½ inches wide by 3 inches deep and 1¾ inches high. LED indicators provide quick visual confirmation of power status and GPS data reception, making installation and operation straightforward. The included marine-grade GPS receiver features a six-foot cable and can be mounted using peel-and-stick adhesive or positioned horizontally on a window sill. In many installations, the receiver can even obtain satellite signals through nonmetallic roofing materials.
