Operation is simple and straightforward. The unit is powered using a 120 to 240 VAC NEMA 5-15 power cord, which also recharges the fully integrated internal battery system. Once powered on, users can access the internal BCD rotary switches located inside the enclosure to set the desired countdown duration. The timer can be configured anywhere from seconds up to a full 99 minutes and 59 seconds. After setting the required time, the operator simply presses the top-mounted push button switch to begin the countdown sequence.

This updated model demonstrates how quickly the countdown value can be adjusted. By removing the front enclosure cover, users gain access to the BCD rotary switches for easy time configuration using a standard flathead screwdriver. Once the timer reaches zero, the system automatically resets to the programmed countdown value while simultaneously activating the adjustable end-of-period buzzer alarm. The alarm can then be silenced by pressing the push button switch again.

One of the major upgrades featured on this newer version of the DC-10T-DN-BCD is the integrated rechargeable battery backup system. In the event external power is disconnected, the internal battery allows the timer to continue operating independently. The NEMA 5-15 power cord continuously recharges the internal battery while connected to wall power, allowing the unit to reach a full recharge in approximately 48 hours.
