Red Moon Marketing has reached out to DC-Digital for a method of bringing awareness to the importance of recycling. This custom competition timer system featuring the DC-60T-UP-TERM and DC-80-Static-Key is designed to bring speed, accuracy, and excitement to hands-on sorting challenges like recycling games. Built specifically for head-to-head competition, this setup allows two contestants to race against each other while also competing for the best time of the day, displayed prominently on a master unit.

At the start of each round, both timers are triggered simultaneously using a common start function, ensuring a fair and synchronized beginning for both participants. Each contestant is tasked with separating a mixed set of aluminum cans and plastic bottles into their correct designated holes. As the timers begin counting in seconds and hundredths of a second, precision and speed become critical. Once a contestant completes the sorting task, they press their dedicated 60 mm stop switch, instantly recording their final time.

A built-in audible tone is triggered for approximately three seconds when a player finishes, signaling completion to the other contestant and the operator. This adds a clear and engaging indicator during gameplay, especially in busy or noisy environments.

The system then compares results, identifying the fastest time. That winning time can be manually entered into the larger 8-inch master display using the included keypad interface. Once entered, the score is stored in nonvolatile memory, ensuring it remains saved throughout the day until a new, faster time is achieved.

The stop switches and keypad interface connect via terminal blocks and RS485 communication, ensuring reliable performance across all components.
