Lowes had us convert a DC-606C-TERM-IN 6 digit 6 inch Red LED’s to Blue LED’s to count product going down a conveyor line. We’re excited to share a custom project recently completed for a client with a very specific need: a six-digit industrial counter used to track boxes on a conveyor belt. This custom configuration, based on our DC-606C-TERM-IN model, introduces unique features tailored to the customer’s operational setup and brand requirements.

Unlike our standard counter models—which typically include increment, decrement, and zero reset functions—this version was built without a decrement option by customer request. The focus here is on incrementing counts via a sensor as boxes pass, and resetting the count via a manual palm switch, giving the customer simple and effective control for their process.

Key Custom Features of the DC-606C-TERM-IN

• Blue LED Display: At the client’s request, we swapped our standard red LED digits for blue LEDs to match the company’s branding and logo scheme. The display size is a large 6-inch format, ensuring clear visibility from a distance in industrial settings.
• Reflective Sensor Input: The unit uses a DC-DIFF-SENS-10 diffusive reflective sensor to trigger the increment. This sensor supports both NPN and PNP outputs, and we configured it to use the PNP output for compatibility with our counter input. It has an adjustable detection range of 0 to 10 feet, offering flexibility for different conveyor setups.
• Palm Switch Reset: A rugged SW-1-HD-Black palm switch is used for manual reset. This 40mm switch comes pre-installed in a junction box with 25 feet of cable, allowing it to be mounted in a convenient location for the operator.
• Enclosure and Mounting:
  • Powder-coated aluminum extrusion case for durability and a professional appearance.
  • Four teardrop mounting tabs are installed along the top row on the rear of the case for secure mounting.
• Power Supply:
  • Accepts 120 to 240 VAC, 50 to 60 Hz, via a 6-foot, 3-prong indoor power cable.
• Wiring and Connectivity:
  • Pre-labeled wires make installation straightforward:
    • For the sensor: 12V DC, Increment, and Common.
    • For the palm switch: Reset and Common.
  • Both the sensor and the switch have clearly labeled wires for fast and accurate connection.
  • The sensor package includes a mounting bracket, nut, and a screwdriver to secure it at the proper orientation and adjust the sensing distance.
