Northmont City School has reached out to DC-Digital for a method of telling the time of day through their own local server. The DC-25N-W-Master Network Time of Day Clock is designed to provide accurate, synchronized time across multiple locations through a simple and reliable setup. This system consists of a master clock and a secondary clock, both of which display the exact same time of day. The master clock connects to the internet via an Ethernet cable, pulling time data directly from an NTP server. Once the master receives the information, it transmits that data wirelessly to the secondary clock using a 900 MHz radio frequency. This ensures that both clocks remain synchronized at all times.

To begin, the customer simply connects the Ethernet cable to the master clock. Once connected, the master clock automatically gathers the time of day from a global NTP source such as time.nist.gov. The secondary clock is then paired with the master unit, and whatever is displayed on the master will immediately appear on the secondary. This process allows organizations to display accurate, consistent time across multiple areas of a facility.

The unit also features a built-in web interface for easy configuration. By entering the MAC address or using the free NetBurner IP setup program, clients can access the device’s homepage. Here they can view the clock’s model, serial number, NTP server details, synchronization attempts, and network configuration settings such as IP address, subnet mask, and gateway.

Key configuration options include:

  • Time format selection: Switch between 12-hour and 24-hour displays.
  • Time zone settings: Choose from a full list of global time zones.
  • Synchronization intervals: Default set to 1 minute, adjustable up to 1,800 seconds.
  • Network modes: DHCP for automatic IP assignment or static for manual configuration.

One of the standout features of the DC-25N-W-Master is its store and forward capability. This ensures that time data received by the master is transmitted to the secondary clock and can be shared with an unlimited number of additional secondary clocks if required. Even if the master is briefly powered down, the secondary will continue functioning until the master reconnects.

From a hardware standpoint, the clocks are built for durability. Both enclosures are aluminum with a tough, fingerprint-resistant black powder coating. The display size is 2.3 inches, with four bright digits visible from up to 120 feet away. Each unit is powered by a 120–240 VAC wall adapter with a 6-foot cord, making installation straightforward. For mounting, the clocks include slotted teardrop knockouts compatible with 2×4 or 4×4 electrical rough-in boxes.

Its combination of Ethernet-based NTP accuracy, wireless secondary synchronization, and robust aluminum design makes it a reliable and professional timekeeping solution.
