DC-Digital recently manufactured a custom master/secondary countdown timer system for the Glynn County Schools JR. ROTC program. Designed specifically for use on a rifle training range, the system provides synchronized countdown timing across multiple viewing locations, ensuring every participant sees the same accurate time regardless of position.

The installation consisted of one DC-40T-DN-W Master Countdown Timer and three DC-10T-DN-W Secondary Countdown Timers. A wireless RF handheld controller communicates directly with the master timer, allowing operators to set countdown values, start, stop, reset, and manage timing operations without being physically connected to the display. The master timer then wirelessly transmits synchronized timing information to each secondary display through an integrated 900 MHz LoRa radio network, keeping every timer perfectly synchronized.

Reliable Master/Secondary Wireless Synchronization

The master/secondary architecture allows a single operator to control multiple displays simultaneously while eliminating the need for extensive wiring between locations. Secondary displays can typically be positioned up to 300 feet from the master unit in most indoor and outdoor environments, providing exceptional flexibility for facilities requiring multiple synchronized viewing points.

The DC-40T-DN-W serves as the primary control display for the entire timer network. Its large 4-inch LED digits provide excellent visibility while offering complete control of all connected secondary displays.

DC-10T-DN-W Secondary Countdown Timer Features

The DC-10T-DN-W secondary timer provides synchronized timing wherever additional viewing locations are required. Although compact, it delivers the same accurate countdown information as the master display.
