The City of Azle is utilizing a standard DC-Digital DC-25UTW-DS Double-Sided Multi-Function Timer to help manage time during city council meetings. Designed for applications where timing needs to be clearly visible to multiple participants, the DC-25UTW-DS provides a compact, double-sided display that allows the timer to be viewed from both sides of a meeting table.

For city council meetings, keeping discussions and presentations organized can be an important part of maintaining an efficient meeting schedule. The DC-25UTW-DS provides a simple way to keep track of allotted speaking time, countdown periods, discussion durations, or other timed portions of a meeting.

Double-Sided Display for Meeting Rooms

The DC-25UTW-DS features an 8-digit, two-sided redundant display using super-bright red 2.3-inch LED digits. With the display visible from both sides of the unit, council members and meeting participants can monitor the timer without needing to reposition the equipment.

The aluminum enclosure is finished with a tough, fingerprint-resistant black powder coating. Measuring approximately 9-3/4 inches wide by 4-3/4 inches tall and 3 inches deep, the timer is compact enough for desktop placement while providing a large, easy-to-read display for meeting environments.

Rubber feet provide convenient desktop mounting, making the unit well suited for placement on a council table, conference table, podium, or other meeting surface.

Multiple Timing Functions

One of the advantages of the DC-25UTW-DS is its ability to operate as more than just a countdown timer. The unit provides three primary operating functions:

• Count up to 99 hours with hundredths-of-a-second resolution
• Count down from as much as 99 hours to hundredths of a second
• Display the time of day in a 12-hour format

This flexibility allows the City of Azle to use the same display for different timing requirements that may arise during council meetings and other municipal events.

The timer can be configured for either count-up or countdown operation depending on the requirements of the meeting. A countdown can be useful when a speaker or agenda item has a designated amount of time, while count-up operation can be used to monitor the actual length of a discussion or presentation.

Wireless Remote Control

The DC-25UTW-DS is operated using an RF wireless remote control, providing convenient control of the timer without requiring the operator to remain directly beside the display.

The included WRC-8T LoRa RF wireless remote operates in the 902–928 MHz frequency range and is FCC tested and certified under CFR Title 47, Chapter 1, Part 15.245. The wireless system provides a range of more than 1,500 feet outdoors and approximately 300 feet indoors, giving meeting personnel considerable flexibility when positioning the timer and operating the controls.

The remote provides controls for:

• Clock/Timer selection
• Up/Down operation
• Start/Stop
• Reset to Last Value
• Reset to Zero
• Set Hours
• Set Minutes
• Set Seconds

These controls allow the timer to be quickly configured and operated as the needs of a meeting change.

Clear Visibility for Council Meetings

The DC-25UTW-DS uses eight super-bright bar-type, 7-segment red LEDs with an actual digit height of 2.3 inches. The display is designed for viewing distances of approximately 120 feet, making the numbers easy to see across a typical meeting room.

A fully adjustable piezo buzzer is also incorporated into the timer. The audible alert can provide an additional indication when a timed period has ended, while a silencing switch allows the audible function to be disabled when a quiet meeting environment is preferred.
