We at DC-Digital would like to showcase our new DC-BB-Game-Box Amusement Device MFG Game Buzzer and Light Controller System, a purpose-built control attachment designed for amusement park and arcade game manufacturers. This system is engineered to provide clear visual and audible feedback when a successful basketball shot is made, enhancing gameplay excitement while delivering reliable performance in demanding indoor and outdoor environments. These were key the key aspects that Amusement Devices & MFG LLC. had asked of us when creating this new model.
The system uses a high-performance area photo sensor to detect when a basketball passes through the scoring zone. Once a valid score is detected, the controller activates a bright green indicator light and sounds a powerful end-of-period buzzer at approximately 95 to 105 dB. The audible alert sounds for three seconds, providing immediate confirmation of a successful shot before the system is reset for the next play.
Designed for ease of operation, the system is activated using a durable green palm switch. When enabled, the illuminated indicator confirms the unit is active and ready to detect a score. After a basket is made, both the buzzer and light can be canceled and reset using the same switch. The controller can also be placed into a disabled mode, preventing activation until it is intentionally re-enabled, giving operators full control over gameplay flow.
One of the standout features of this system is its outdoor-capable photo sensor. The sensor uses a specific blue light technology that rejects infrared interference, allowing it to operate reliably even in direct sunlight. Sensitivity and detection range can be adjusted using an external control knob, making it adaptable to various game layouts and scoring areas.
Key functional highlights include:
- Area sensor detection for accurate basket recognition
- Green visual indicator to confirm scoring events
- High-output buzzer for clear audible feedback
- Simple enable, disable, and reset control via palm switch
- Outdoor-capable sensor performance in sunlight
The DC-BB-Game-Box is housed in a rugged NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure that is IP66 rated, making it suitable for outdoor amusement applications. All enclosure penetrations are sealed with silicone gasketing, and an internal rubber gasket ensures a complete environmental seal when the lid is secured. This design protects the internal relays and control circuitry from moisture, dust, and harsh environmental conditions.
Hardware features include:
- NEMA 4X / IP66 polycarbonate enclosure
- IP67-rated outdoor ANDON indicator light
- Heavy-duty 60 mm green palm switch with 25 ft of cabling
- DC-OPT-2151 adjustable blue light photo sensor
- Internal relays and control circuitry
- 25 ft outdoor-rated cabling for external devices
The system operates on 24 DC customer-supplied power and is intended to be integrated by amusement game manufacturers into a wide range of interactive attractions. In this configuration, it is ideally suited for basketball-style amusement games where reliable scoring detection, durability, and player feedback are critical.
