The Sphere has requested DC-Digital for a custom model that would alert performers when their shows began. The DC-10-Key-W-Master paired with the DC-40-W-Secondary is a versatile multi-function timing system designed for environments where precise, synchronized timekeeping is essential. Whether used for event coordination, production planning, or structured break management, this master–secondary configuration ensures that time remains consistent and visible in multiple locations. One real-world example includes using the system in a concert space, where the master timer is controlled from the office while performers monitor the secondary timer in their break area to stay on schedule between sets.
At the core of the system, the DC-10-Key-W-Master acts as the command unit. From here, users can set countdowns, count-ups, or standard clock functions. The selected timing mode is instantly broadcast to the DC-40-W-Secondary, which displays the same information in a larger, long-distance-readable format. This allows organizers, performers, or staff to clearly see the remaining time without needing to approach the master unit.
To support streamlined operation and adaptable control, the system includes two control methods: a handheld user remote with essential functions, and a full-featured wired keypad used by the owner or system manager. The remote allows basic start, stop, mode switching, and value recalls, making it ideal for quick interactions during an event. The keypad, on the other hand, provides complete access to all advanced adjustments, including time and date programming, daylight savings updates, display blanking, quiet mode toggling, and control over end-of-period behavior such as flashing or buzzing.
Key Operational Capabilities
- Switch between countdown, count-up, and time-of-day modes.
- Use the handheld remote for quick start/stop and mode changes.
- Utilize the wired keypad for full configuration, including 12/24-hour format and daylight savings settings.
- Manage end-of-period responses: flashing display, audible buzzer, or silent mode.
- Blank or restore the display when needed.
- Return to stored values or reset to zero with a single command.
When operating in countdown mode, users can set specific hours, minutes, and seconds on the master keypad. The timer will count down to zero, at which point it can either flash, remain silent, or trigger the end-of-period buzzer, depending on the selected setting. In uptime mode, the system functions like a stopwatch, continuously counting upward from zero. Switching back to standard time-of-day display is easily achieved from either controller.
Beyond its intelligent functionality, the system offers robust physical design features that make it well-suited for demanding environments. Both enclosures are manufactured from tough, fingerprint-resistant 14-gauge black powder-coated aluminum. This ensures durability whether installed in offices, backstage areas, industrial settings, or public venues. The DC-10 features a 1-inch high LED display visible up to 25 feet, while the secondary DC-40 offers a much larger 4-inch display readable from up to 200 feet away—ideal for wide or open rooms.
Hardware Highlights
- Four-digit display capable of counting up or down from 99:59:59.
- Supports 12-hour and 24-hour time formats.
- Operates via 120–240 VAC power with an included wall adapter.
- DC-40 secondary units include dual top-mounted eyebolts for versatile mounting.

This master–secondary timing solution delivers accuracy, visibility, and ease of use, making it an ideal choice for concert organizers, event coordinators, production managers, schools, and facilities that require synchronized timing across multiple locations. With flexible control options, durable construction, and clear long-distance readability, the DC-10-Key-W-Master paired with the DC-40-W-Secondary ensures that everyone stays on schedule with confidence and clarity.
