Manufacturing and distribution operations that span multiple locations often face the challenge of keeping employees informed with consistent, up-to-date production and shipping information. When facilities operate across different time zones, having a centralized way to communicate important operational data becomes even more valuable. To help address this need, DC-Digital is providing a custom-built DC-4020 6-Zone Scoreboard designed for a customer that will utilize the display to monitor information associated with six different time zones.

The custom scoreboard provides a large, highly visible centralized display that allows important production and shipping information to be presented in dedicated sections. Rather than relying on individual computers, printed reports, or manually updated boards, the network-controlled DC-4020 can receive information electronically and display current data where employees can easily see it.

Six Time Zones in One Centralized Display

The customer’s application requires visibility into operations occurring across six different time zones. The DC-4020 6-Zone Scoreboard provides a practical way to organize this information so that each time zone can have its own dedicated area on the display.

With multiple sections available, information associated with each location or time zone can remain visible simultaneously. This gives supervisors, production personnel, shipping teams, and other employees a quick way to understand the current status of operations without having to access multiple computer systems.

Displaying information for six different time zones on one large LED scoreboard can also help provide a common operational reference point. Employees can quickly determine what is happening at different locations and better coordinate production, shipping, scheduling, and communication throughout the workday.

Large LED Digits for Warehouse Visibility

The DC-4020 is designed for industrial indoor environments where information needs to be visible from across a production or warehouse area. The scoreboard utilizes large 4-inch ultra-bright LED digits capable of being viewed from distances of up to approximately 200 feet.

This makes the display useful in manufacturing facilities, warehouses, distribution centers, and shipping areas where employees may not be located near a computer workstation.

The custom scoreboard is housed in a durable black powder-coated aluminum enclosure measuring approximately 65 inches wide by 25 inches high and 3 inches deep. Rear C-channel mounting provides a secure method for installing the display in an appropriate location within the facility.

Network-Controlled Information

One of the key features of the customer’s DC-4020 is its network-controlled operation. The display incorporates a Serial-to-Ethernet interface that allows information to be transmitted using either TCP or UDP communication.

Each section of the scoreboard can be individually addressed, allowing the customer’s production or information systems to update specific portions of the display without changing the remaining information.

This provides significant flexibility for an application involving six different time zones. Information can be directed to the appropriate section of the scoreboard based on the location, production operation, or time zone being monitored.

Instead of manually entering information into each display section, a connected software system can transmit properly formatted network packets to the scoreboard. As information changes, the corresponding LED section can be updated automatically.

Designed for Real-Time Operational Awareness

The ability to keep information visible throughout the day makes the DC-4020 useful as a visual management tool. Employees do not have to navigate through software applications or search for reports to determine the latest information.

The scoreboard can provide an at-a-glance reference for the customer’s six time-zone operation, helping personnel quickly understand current conditions at each location.

This type of visual communication can be especially useful for organizations coordinating manufacturing, shipping, fulfillment, or distribution activities across geographically separated facilities. Having the information displayed in one central location can make it easier for teams to communicate and respond to changing production requirements.

Flexible Network Configuration

The DC-4020 includes an integrated network configuration interface that allows the customer to configure important communication settings. These include the device name, DHCP or static IP addressing, network information, and TCP/UDP listening port.

The ability to use either DHCP or a static IP address allows the scoreboard to be incorporated into different network environments depending on the customer’s requirements.

Once connected to the network, the customer’s software can communicate directly with the scoreboard using the appropriate network protocol and custom communication format.

Six Dedicated Zones for Six Time Zones

The six-zone configuration gives this custom DC-4020 a specific purpose beyond a conventional production scoreboard. Each zone can provide a dedicated visual reference for one of the customer’s six time zones.

This arrangement allows information to remain organized and easy to interpret. Instead of displaying all information in a single combined field, the scoreboard separates the data into clearly defined areas so employees can quickly identify the information associated with each location.

For organizations operating across multiple regions, this can provide a simple and highly visible way to maintain awareness of activities taking place throughout the company’s operating network.

Custom-Built for the Application

Like many DC-Digital products, the DC-4020 6-Zone Scoreboard is being built around the customer’s specific requirements. DC-Digital specializes in custom industrial LED displays that can be configured around the information a customer needs to monitor and the environment where the display will be installed.

The combination of large LED digits, a durable aluminum enclosure, rear C-channel mounting, Ethernet connectivity, and individually addressable display sections gives this scoreboard the flexibility needed for the customer’s six-time-zone application.

Rather than requiring the customer to adapt its operations to a standard display, the DC-4020 can be configured to present the information in a format that fits the customer’s workflow.

Improving Visibility Across Multiple Locations

For organizations operating across multiple time zones, maintaining awareness of production and shipping activity can be challenging. The custom DC-4020 6-Zone Scoreboard provides the customer with a centralized visual communication tool capable of displaying information for all six time zones in one location.

By connecting the scoreboard to the customer’s network and software systems, information can be automatically updated as operational conditions change. Large, bright LED digits make the information easy to see from across the facility, while the individually controlled sections keep the information organized.

The result is a custom industrial LED scoreboard designed to improve operational visibility, support communication between teams, and provide a clear visual reference for activities occurring across six different time zones.

DC-Digital manufactures custom industrial LED timers, counters, clocks, scoreboards, number displays, and network-controlled displays for manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, production, and other industrial applications. Standard products can also be customized to meet specific application requirements.
