Glass Cutter Counters for Manufacturing Facility with Multiple Inputs
The DC-40C-Term is designed to provide a clear and reliable way to track production totals in real time. In many production environments, operators frequently ask a simple question throughout the day: “How many cuts have we made?” Instead of relying on manual counts or stopping work to verify totals, this counter allows everyone on the floor to instantly see the current quantity with a quick glance.
Equipped with 4-inch super bright LED digits, the DC-40C-Term is highly visible from distances of up to 200 feet. This long viewing range makes it easy for operators, supervisors, and team members across the workspace to quickly confirm the current count without interrupting workflow. The bright LED display also helps prevent misreading numbers in busy or brightly lit environments.
For larger facilities that require even greater visibility, similar counters can be configured with significantly larger displays. Digit sizes can be expanded up to 30 inches, allowing viewing distances of up to 1,500 feet, making them suitable for large production areas, warehouses, or outdoor installations.
This particular custom unit was configured with a flexible control setup that allows the customer to operate the counter in the way that best fits their workflow. One of the selected options was a 60 millimeter palm switch with a 25-foot cable, which provides a simple and durable way to increment the count during operation. The palm switch connects directly to the internal terminal block and triggers the increment function with each press.
However, the 60 millimeter palm switch is considered an optional accessory rather than a required component of the DC-40C-Term system. The counter itself is built with terminal inputs that allow the customer to choose how they want to trigger the increment function. Some customers prefer to wire the counter into existing equipment, sensors, relays, or PLC outputs that automatically send a signal each time a process is completed.
Because of this flexibility, the palm switch simply provides a manual method of incrementing the count, which can be useful in applications where an operator is physically confirming each completed action. In this case, the customer selected the palm switch as a convenient way to increment the counter whenever a cut is made. The 25-foot cable also allows the switch to be positioned wherever it is most comfortable and accessible for the operator.
Additional control inputs are also available on the unit, allowing the customer to manage the count when needed.
Key features of this custom configuration include:
- 4-inch super bright LED digits viewable up to 200 feet away
- Optional 60 millimeter palm switch with a 25-foot cable for manual incrementing
- Increment, decrement, and reset terminals located on the internal terminal block
- Top-mounted decrement and reset-to-zero switches for quick adjustments
- Optional 24V DC input terminal for customers supplying their own power
- 6-foot corded wall adapter compatible with both 120V and 240V power
- All-aluminum enclosure for durability in industrial environments
Inside the enclosure, the terminal block clearly labels the increment, decrement, and reset connections, giving customers the flexibility to connect external devices if desired. While the palm switch is a convenient add-on for manual operation, the unit can easily be integrated with automated equipment to increment counts based on machine signals.
Power is provided through a 6-foot corded wall adapter that works with both 120V and 240V outlets, allowing for quick installation. For customers who prefer to power the unit through their own system, a 24V DC input terminal is also available.
The entire system is housed in a rugged aluminum enclosure, which protects the electronics while maintaining a professional appearance on the production floor.
With its bright LED display, flexible input options, and durable construction, the DC-40C-Term provides a reliable way to track production counts throughout the day. Whether used with a manual palm switch or integrated into auto mated equipment, the counter ensures that the current total is always visible to everyone who needs it.
