By integrating foot switch activation with nonvolatile memory and a high-visibility LED display, this timer delivers consistent, repeatable timing control for product assembly, fabrication, packaging, or any process where precision and efficiency are critical.
The primary goal of this custom configuration is to provide a hands-free timing solution that retains programmed settings even after power loss. Thanks to its nonvolatile memory, each foot switch can be individually programmed with a specific countdown duration. Once the desired time is set, the information is stored and ready for repeated use without reprogramming.
Operation is straightforward and intuitive. The unit includes three separate DC-25 foot switches, each connected to a clearly labeled terminal block using dry contact wiring. The wires are laminated and labeled one, two, and three, corresponding to each foot switch. Because the connections are dry contact, the system allows flexibility for integrating other compatible devices if needed.
To program a countdown time for any foot switch:
- Press and hold the desired foot switch until the minute section of the display begins flashing.
- Use the two push button switches located at the top of the enclosure to set the time in tens and ones of minutes.
- Release the foot switch and wait a few seconds for the display to stop flashing, confirming the time has been stored.
For example, if Foot Switch 1 is set to one minute, pressing it will immediately begin the countdown from 01:00. Pressing the same foot switch again during operation resets the timer and restarts the programmed duration. Each of the three foot switches can be set independently, allowing different timed processes to be triggered instantly without reconfiguration.
When the countdown reaches zero, the DC-EOPB-7595 end-of-period alarm activates for three seconds. The buzzer output is adjustable between 75 and 95 dB, providing flexibility depending on ambient noise levels. In the demonstration, the alarm sounds at 95 dB, ensuring it can be clearly heard across a busy production area.
From a hardware standpoint, this model is built for durability and visibility in industrial environments. The enclosure is constructed from 14-gauge aluminum with a black powder-coated finish and carries an IP60 rating for protection. The 2.3-inch LED display is viewable from up to 120 feet away, making it easy to monitor countdown status across larger workspaces.
