This custom DC-802T-DN-BCD-ANDON Seconds Countdown Timer was built for the Overhead Door Company of Bowling Green to serve as a highly visible and audible warning system for a loading dock door that is about to close. Designed to improve workplace safety and situational awareness, this unit provides workers with a clear countdown so they know exactly when the door cycle is ending, reducing surprises and helping prevent accidents in busy dock environments.

The timer features a simple yet reliable two-digit countdown capable of timing from 1 to 99 seconds. Time is set using BCD rotary switches located at the bottom of the enclosure, allowing quick, tool-based adjustments without opening the housing. Each switch corresponds to a digit position—seconds units and seconds tens—making setup intuitive and precise. Once triggered, the display begins counting down immediately, giving dock personnel a clear visual cue as the door approaches closure.

To support flexible integration with existing door and control systems, the unit includes a close contact wire junction box on the left side of the enclosure. This junction box provides pigtail wiring for start, stop, and reset functions, allowing the timer to be activated by door controls, relays, or automation systems. Inputs support both contact closure and PNP signals (5–30 VDC), making this timer adaptable across a wide range of industrial applications.

At the end of the countdown, the DC-802T-DN-BCD-ANDON delivers unmistakable alerts. When the display reaches zero, an adjustable IP-67 rated piezo buzzer sounds for three seconds while the LED display flashes. At the same time, the IP-67 ANDON light mounted on top of the enclosure flashes in unison, providing a clear visual warning that the door is closing or has reached the end of its cycle. The flashing indication remains active until a reset signal is received, ensuring the alert is not missed in noisy or high-traffic environments.

Built for both indoor and outdoor use, this timer is housed in a sealed, all-aluminum IP-66 enclosure with a durable black powder-coated finish. The enclosure is fingerprint resistant, dust resistant, and waterproof, making it suitable for loading docks exposed to weather, debris, and temperature changes. An integrated bright/dim switch allows the display to remain clearly visible in full sunlight while preventing glare in low-light conditions.

The large 8-inch oval LED digits are readable from distances of up to 400 feet, ensuring visibility across wide dock areas. Mounting flexibility is provided through adjustable aluminum C-channel mounting rails, allowing installers to drill mounting holes based on the specific surface or structure at the site.

Key features of the DC-802T-DN-BCD-ANDON include:

  • Two-digit seconds countdown from 1 to 99 seconds
  • BCD rotary switches for fast, accurate time setting
  • Contact closure and PNP input compatibility (5–30 VDC)
