This custom DC-60T-UP-TERM-IN Agitator Pigtail Foot Switch Controlled Up Timer was built specifically for Dow Chemicals to support one of their active workstations by acting as an agitator indicator. The goal of this system is to provide a clear, audible signal that work is currently in progress. When activated, the timer counts upward while a buzzer sounds continuously, alerting nearby workers that the workstation is active. Once the task is complete, the operator simply stops the timer using a foot switch, immediately ending both the count and the audible alert.

The system operates using pigtail wire connections that allow the customer to integrate their own foot switch as a dedicated start and stop control. When the start pigtail wires are triggered, the up timer begins counting upward and the buzzer activates at the same time. The timer continues running until the stop pigtail wires are engaged, placing the unit into stop mode. At that point, the timer can be reset either through the reset pigtail wires or by using the built-in momentary push button located on the top center of the enclosure. This setup gives operators hands-free control, making it ideal for industrial environments where efficiency and awareness are critical.

This up timer is designed with three separate pigtail wire functions to support flexible control options:

  • Start pigtail wires used to initiate the timer and buzzer
  • Stop pigtail wires used to halt the timer and silence the buzzer
  • Reset pigtail wires, which are optional since a manual reset button is built into the enclosure

Once started, the timer counts upward with high precision and visibility. It can measure up to 99 hours and 59 minutes in hundredths of a second, utilizing shift digit technology. This allows the display to automatically change formats as time increases, transitioning from seconds and hundredths of a second, to minutes and seconds, and finally to hours and minutes. This ensures accurate time tracking while keeping the display easy to read at every stage of operation.

From a hardware standpoint, this unit is built for durability and long-term industrial use. The enclosure is constructed from tough aluminum and finished with a fingerprint-resistant black powder coat. The display is large and bright, making it easily visible from long distances on the production floor.

Power is supplied through a 120–240 VAC, 3-prong grounded, 6-foot power cord, which is securely grounded to the enclosure. While this model typically includes a junction box for pigtail connections, this custom order uses the grounded power cord configuration to meet Dow Chemicals’ specific requirements. For mounting, the enclosure features two slotted teardrop mounting tabs on the back, allowing for quick and secure wall installation. A pigtail wire junction box is mounted on the left side of the enclosure for clean and organized wiring connections.

This custom DC-60T-UP-TERM-IN up timer provides Dow Chemicals with a reliable, highly visible, and audible solution for indicating active processes at their workstation. Its foot switch control, precision timing, and rugged construction make it a practical tool for improving workflow awareness and operational safety in demanding industrial environments.
