When Kings Island Amusement Park’s Soak City expanded in 2012, their engineers needed a reliable timing solution for the wave pool. They wanted a bright, outdoor-ready countdown display that would let guests know exactly how many minutes remained until the next wave cycle. That’s when they turned to DC-Digital.

We provided the DC-150T-DN-BCD, a rugged, 15-inch red LED countdown timer designed specifically for outdoor environments. Guests could easily see the large, highly visible digits across the wave pool, and the countdown quickly became a feature that visitors enjoyed watching together. Kings Island was so satisfied with the first installation that they ordered a second timer for their additional wave pool.

The DC-150T-DN-BCD offers a straightforward yet flexible design that allows operators to control the countdown cycle with ease. It’s built to withstand outdoor conditions while maintaining excellent readability.

Key Features of the DC-150T-DN-BCD:

  • Large 15-inch red LED digits: Highly visible in both bright sunlight and shaded environments.
  • Outdoor-ready design: Durable, powder-coated aluminum housing with C-Channel mounting.
  • BCD rotary switches: Simple adjustment of countdown values with a small screwdriver. Each switch is labeled and ranges from 0-9.
  • Control functionality:
    • Yellow wire: Start/stop countdown.
    • Blue wire: Reset to the BCD value (only if the timer is stopped).
    • Brown wire: Reset to the BCD value and immediately start countdown.
    • Black wires: Commons for connection.
  • Countdown display format: Minute:Second (MM:SS).
  • Flexible reset options: Allows operators to restart timing cycles quickly.
  • Power supply: Operates on 120–240V AC with a six-foot power cord.
  • Customization: Available in different formats, including Hour:Minute displays.

Operators simply set the time using the rotary switches on the bottom of the unit, which are clearly labeled and easy to adjust. The contact closure design ensures the countdown resets and starts reliably, keeping operations simple and consistent.
