Today, we’re showcasing a custom-built solution designed for high-precision countdown applications — the DC-60T-DN-BCD Master with Secondary Timer System. Built for durability and simplicity, this system is ideal for environments that require synchronized visual countdown displays, precise timing control, and remote activation.

Precise Time Control with BCD Rotary Switches

At the heart of this setup is The Master Timer, which utilizes BCD (Binary-Coded Decimal) rotary set switches located on the top of the enclosure. Each digit is independently adjustable, allowing the user to manually set specific minutes and seconds (or hours and minutes upon request). This analog-style control offers a tactile, intuitive way to configure countdown times without navigating digital menus or screens.

Key features of the Master Timer include:

  • Rotary-set BCD switches for time configuration
  • Configurable for minutes/seconds or hours/minutes
  • Foot switch activation for hands-free reset and start
  • Countdown with audible alarm at zero
  • Real-time synchronization with the secondary display

Foot Switch Operation for Streamlined Control

A highly requested feature integrated into this custom setup is the foot switch, offering seamless control to reset and start the countdown timer. This enables operators to maintain workflow without having to use their hands or manually press buttons on the timer.

The process is simple:

  1. Set the time using BCD switches.
  2. Press the foot switch to start.
  3. Both master and secondary timers begin countdown in sync.
  4. At zero, the system triggers an audible alarm.

This kind of interface is especially valuable in training environments, assembly lines, or events requiring repeated, timed cycles.

Synchronized Secondary Display – Up to 1,000 Feet Away

The DC-60 Secondary Timer connects via two 22-gauge wires and mirrors the countdown of the master timer in real time. This four-wire system ensures full synchronization and can extend up to 1,000 feet, providing flexibility for large indoor spaces.

Key attributes of the secondary display:

  • 6-inch, easy-to-read LED digits
  • Wired connection for high-reliability sync
  • Indoor use standard (outdoor variants available)
  • Matches countdown and alarm of the master timer

Rugged, Mountable Enclosures

Both the master and secondary timers are housed in robust, extruded aluminum enclosures with a wall thickness of 0.808 inches. The system is designed for professional applications where durability and clean installation matter.

Mounting options include:

  • Keyhole mounts for fast installation
  • Optional adjustable tabs (not shown in demonstration)
  • Flush-mounted strain relief for power connection

Each unit includes a 6-foot power cord and is compatible with both 110V and 220V input, making installation straightforward in a range of electrical environments.

Additional Hardware and Protection

Power is routed through an all-weather junction box, featuring half-inch knockouts for conduit access and a sealed design for indoor or protected outdoor usage. While the system shown is built for indoor environments, we do offer full indoor/outdoor configurations upon request to suit different operational conditions.

Final Demonstration

In the demonstration, we show the foot switch activation initiating a perfectly synchronized countdown on both displays. As the timers reach zero, the audible alarm is triggered — confirming the system’s precision and reliability.
