Fitchburg State College’s women’s lacrosse program ordered a DC-152T-DN-W-Portable-90 portable lacrosse countdown timer to provide a highly visible, wireless timing solution for practices, competitions, and game-day operations. Designed specifically for high school, college, and professional men’s and women’s lacrosse, the timer can be used with either men’s or women’s lacrosse controllers, making it a versatile addition to the Fitchburg Falcons’ field equipment.

The DC-152T-DN-W-Portable-90 is designed around portability and independent operation. Its built-in rechargeable battery system provides approximately 8 hours of operation on a single charge, allowing the display to be used throughout practices or competition without requiring a permanent power connection. A carrying handle and removable tripod mounting base make it easier to transport and position the timer wherever it is needed on the field.

The timer features large 15-inch red LED digits that provide visibility from distances of up to 750 feet. The sunlight-resistant 621nm LEDs are designed for outdoor viewing, while the display also includes a DIM/BRIGHT function for adjusting the intensity when the timer is used indoors or under different lighting conditions. The two 7-segment digits are constructed from individual 5mm oval LEDs with a 110-degree by 40-degree viewing angle, helping provide a clear display across a wide area of the playing field.

Wireless operation allows the timer to be controlled from a distance without requiring an operator to remain beside the display. The RF wireless handheld remote uses a LoRa radio frequency control module operating at 902–928 MHz and provides simple push-button controls for common lacrosse timing functions.

Key controls include:

• Start/Stop for controlling the countdown
• 90-second reset for quickly returning the display to the standard lacrosse timing value
• 60-second setting for alternate timing requirements
• +1 Second and -1 Second adjustments for precise time changes
• Power ON/OFF control
• Wireless operation from 1500+ feet outdoors and 300+ feet indoors

The wireless remote includes a belt clip and 9-volt alkaline battery, allowing the operator to carry the controller while remaining positioned away from the timer. The system also incorporates continuous check, no-fault timing operation to help maintain dependable wireless control during use.

For outdoor athletic applications, the enclosure is constructed from heavy-duty aluminum with an IP-66 waterproof rating. The black powder-coated, fingerprint-resistant enclosure is designed for outdoor wet-location use and provides protection for the electronics in demanding field environments. The timer measures 24 inches wide by 19 inches tall by 3-1/4 inches deep.

Power is supplied by two 12-volt, 8 amp-hour sealed lead-acid batteries, along with a 3-amp battery charger and charge-status indicator LEDs. This battery configuration provides approximately eight hours of operating time before recharging is required.

The DC-152T-DN-W-Portable-90 gives Fitchburg State College’s lacrosse program a portable, highly visible timing display that can be positioned where needed and operated remotely from the sidelines or other locations around the field.
