A company ordering a DC-Digital count up timer can use a single four-digit display to monitor elapsed time across seconds, minutes, and hours without requiring a larger multi-digit display.
Our DC-XXT-UP count up timers automatically changes the time format as it runs. After being reset to zero and started, the display initially counts in seconds and hundredths of a second. When it reaches 59.99 seconds, the display shifts to minutes and seconds. After reaching 59:59, it shifts again to hours and minutes, continuing up to 99:59.
Once the timer reaches 99:59, it continues counting by cycling back through the display formats while continuing to operate. The display always shows the four most significant digits, allowing a compact four-digit timer to represent extended periods of elapsed time.
When the timer is operating in the hours-and-minutes format, the colon flashes to provide a visual indication that the timer is still actively counting.
This flexible display format makes DC-Digital count up timers useful for applications where elapsed time may range from fractions of a second to many hours while maintaining a simple, easy-to-read four-digit display.
