The DC-10T-DN-BCD-EOP-NEMA is a purpose-built, machine-operated countdown timer designed for industrial environments where equipment run-time must be precisely managed. Customers using this model seek one key outcome: to reliably utilize countdown timing functions that limit work time for their machines. This unit offers a clear, efficient, and repeatable workflow that ensures each countdown cycle is initiated, managed, and reset according to the needs of their operation.
To operate the timer, the user first sets their desired countdown value using the internal BCD rotary switches. These switches allow for fast, accurate configuration ranging anywhere from 99 minutes and 59 seconds down to single-second increments. Once the BCD time is set, the client provides their own dry contact closure to initiate the countdown function. This same dry contact closure is also used for the open-to-reset sequence, which resets the display back to the BCD preset value. Power is supplied by the integrated power cord, giving users a dedicated on/off control for both the device and the countdown process.
When powered on, the unit performs a short startup sequence, cycling the numbers from 1 through 9. After initialization, it automatically loads the selected countdown time based on the BCD rotary switch settings. For example, if the switches are set to 10 seconds, the display immediately begins counting down from 10. Once the countdown reaches zero, the adjustable end-of-period buzzer activates. At that point, the client’s dry contact closures connected through the first cable gland can be used to immediately restart the cycle, enabling continuous or repetitive timing tasks.
To change the countdown duration, the user simply powers off the device and removes the front enclosure lid using a Phillips screwdriver. This provides access to the internal BCD rotary switches. These switches can be adjusted by hand or with a flathead screwdriver, allowing the time to be configured to any value within the unit’s full operating range. After setting the desired value, the user restores power, and the timer begins its countdown using the new preset.
The hardware design of the DC-10T-DN-BCD-EOP-NEMA emphasizes reliability and durability suitable for demanding industrial conditions. Its NEMA 4X/IP66-rated polycarbonate enclosure ensures waterproof protection and long-term resilience. The bright four-digit, one-inch display offers visibility up to 25 feet away, making it ideal for manufacturing floors, machine stations, and industrial panels. The integrated power input uses a 5-15 NEMA SJEOW-rated grounded three-prong cord for dependable operation. When the countdown ends, the built-in end-of-period buzzer delivers an audible alert rated between 75 and 95 dB depending on distance, making it suitable for various noise-level environments.
