This custom-built clock receives both power and data through a single Ethernet cable connected to a Power over Ethernet (POE) network switch, simplifying installation by eliminating the need for a separate power supply. A POE switch is required for operation and is not included with the display.

Built inside a rugged NEMA 4X enclosure, the DC-40N-POE is designed to withstand demanding environments while providing a highly visible 4-inch LED display that can easily be viewed from distances up to 200 feet away. The hinged front cover allows convenient access to the internal controls and settings whenever adjustments are required.

Configuration is simple using onboard DIP switches, allowing users to select either 12-hour or 24-hour time formats and choose among up to four different time zones. This flexibility makes the clock suitable for facilities operating across multiple regions or requiring standardized time synchronization throughout their operations.

One unique feature of the DC-40N-POE is its built-in network status indication. An upper left-hand decimal point serves as a visual indicator of network communication. If the Ethernet connection is interrupted or network synchronization is lost, the decimal point flashes to notify users that updates are no longer being received. Once the network connection is restored, the indicator automatically returns to normal operation and synchronization resumes.

Even during network interruptions, the clock continues operating independently and maintains accurate time locally. When communication is restored, the display automatically updates and resumes receiving synchronization signals without requiring manual intervention.
