The controller comes complete with a belt clip and a 9-volt alkaline battery, making it portable and easy to use during live race operations.

Using the wireless controller is simple and designed for quick adjustments during an event. The controller includes four main commands—Set, +1, -1, and 0—allowing race officials to quickly set or modify the lap count as needed. Before a race begins, the operator can set the lap total by pressing the Set button and adjusting the number until the desired lap count is displayed.

For example, if a race is scheduled for 50 laps, the operator can quickly dial in the starting number. As competitors complete each lap, the count can be adjusted in real time to reflect race progress.

• -1 – Decrements the count by one as laps progress
• 0 (Reset) – Instantly resets the display back to zero

During the race, each press of the -1 button reduces the displayed number by one, allowing officials to track the remaining laps until the finish. If the operator needs to correct the count, the +1 button increments the number back up. The reset function quickly clears the display when preparing for the next race.

Because this display will be installed in an outdoor racing environment, the DC-302C-W is built for durability and long-term reliability. The enclosure is constructed from extruded aluminum, providing strength while resisting corrosion. The entire unit is gasketed and sealed, ensuring that the electronics inside remain protected from rain, dust, and other environmental conditions. This all-weather construction makes it ideal for permanent installation at racetracks and other outdoor venues.

Installation is flexible thanks to the included mounting system. The display ships with two aluminum mounting rails that can be easily drilled into and attached to an existing structure such as a scoreboard frame, wall, or custom support bracket. If the mounting rails are not required, they can be removed. Once removed, the enclosure still features heavy-duty 5/16-inch mounting bolts approximately one inch long, giving installers additional mounting options depending on the structure being used.

For power, the DC-302C-W typically uses 120 VAC input through three-conductor pigtails (hot, neutral, and ground) located inside a junction box. This configuration is standard for most outdoor displays, though a power cord option can also be provided if needed for a specific installation.
