DH Pace has reached out to DC-Digital for a countdown timer built to weather the elements and act as a warning system for when doors open and close. This specialized countdown timer is designed for rugged, high-moisture environments where durability and reliability are critical. Housed in a robust NEMA 4X enclosure, this unit is ideal for industrial applications such as managing forklift traffic between buildings and automatic door openings.

This particular custom order was developed to help the customer control how long their facility doors remain open as forklifts pass through. Once a forklift activates the door, the timer counts down from a preset value — commonly 30 seconds for this application. Operators have that set time to move through the door safely. As an added safety feature, when only five seconds remain, the timer begins to flash, providing a clear visual warning that the door is about to close.

One standout feature of the DC-40T-DN-BCD-NEMA is its simple, precise time setting capability. The countdown can be configured for any duration up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds using easily accessible BCD rotary switches. These switches are located inside the enclosure for protection, yet the enclosure is straightforward to open — just flip the latches, lift the cover, adjust the switches with a flat-head screwdriver, and you’re ready to go.
