Drive-Thru Customer Wait Timer & Vehicle Counter System using Pneumatic Switches

Count Up timer

The DC-256T-UP-C-TERM-DRIVE-THRU system consists of two coordinated units: a master unit and a secondary unit. Both are enclosed in durable, black powder-coated housings that resist fingerprints and dust, ensuring long-term visual clarity and minimal maintenance.

Each unit is powered by a standard wall-prong power adapter and features a digital LED display with six digits:

– Two red LEDs dedicated to the up-timer, capable of counting up to 60 seconds.

– Four green LEDs representing the customer counter, which can count up to 9999.

The master unit includes two push button switches located on the top of the enclosure:

– The first button is used to stop the up-timer manually.

– The second button is used to reset both the up-timer and the customer counter back to zero.

Operation: The system operates using two pneumatic air hoses, each 20 feet in length, connected to their respective pneumatic switches.

Initial Activation: When a vehicle drives over the first air hose, the pneumatic switch is triggered. This activates both the master and secondary units simultaneously. The customer counter increments by one. The up-timer begins counting upward from zero to 60 seconds.

Visual Alert at 20 Seconds:

At the 20-second mark, the red LED digits begin to flash. This visual cue alerts staff that it is time to deliver the order to the customer who has already completed payment.

Pause Trigger:

After receiving their meal, the customer drives over the second air hose, which is connected to the secondary enclosure. This action pauses the up-timer, marking the end of that transaction cycle.

Next Customer:

As the next vehicle drives over the first air hose, the up-timer resets to zero and begins again, while the customer counter increments by one. The cycle then repeats.

Key Features:

Synchronized Display: Both units reflect identical counts and timing in real time.

Clear Visual Indicators:

2.3-inch LED digits provide high visibility for both counter and timer.

Hands-Free Operation:

All timing and counting functions are triggered automatically via pneumatic switches.

Manual Override Controls:

The master unit includes two accessible push buttons—one to stop the timer and one to reset both the timer and counter.

Durable Construction:

Enclosures are designed to withstand daily use in demanding environments.

Conclusion:

The DC-256T-UP-C-TERM-DRIVE-THRU unit is a practical solution for optimizing drive-thru service performance. By integrating visual time tracking with customer counting, it helps staff manage service expectations and maintain a steady operational rhythm, ultimately enhancing the customer experience.
