This custom display solution was built specifically for Constellium Muscle Shoals, an aluminum manufacturing facility producing aluminum sheets for packaging and automotive applications. The goal of this system is to provide a clear, highly visible way to display production sizing or quantity targets directly on the factory floor. By using a static numeric display, operators can instantly see the required pallet size, sheet dimension reference, or the exact number of units that need to be produced, helping streamline communication and reduce production errors.

The system consists of a DC-802-Static-Key-W-Master paired with a DC-802-4-W-SYSTEM-IN secondary static display. These two units are wired directly to each other, allowing information to transfer seamlessly between them. The master unit controls the displayed value, while the secondary mirrors that same number in real time. This ensures consistent visibility across multiple viewing angles or work areas without requiring duplicate inputs.

To operate the system, the user enters a value using the included wireless keypad controller. For example, the displays may initially be set to a static number such as 25 and then cleared back to zero. When a new value is needed, the operator simply presses the Set button on the keypad. At that point, both displays begin flashing, indicating the system is ready for input. The desired number is entered—such as 58—and confirmed by pressing Enter. Once set, both the master and secondary units display that static number continuously until the Set button is pressed again and a new value is entered. This makes it ideal for maintaining a fixed production target throughout a shift or run.

Because the keypad is wireless, operators are not tethered to the displays. The controller can be used from up to 1,500 feet outdoors or 300 feet indoors, allowing supervisors or line leads to update values from a safe and convenient distance.

Key functional highlights include:

  • Static numeric display for production size or quantity targets
  • One master unit controlling a synchronized secondary display
  • Wireless keypad entry for fast, remote updates
  • Simple set-and-hold operation until the value is changed

From a hardware standpoint, both enclosures are constructed from heavy-duty extruded aluminum and finished with a black powder-coated surface that resists fingerprints and dust, making them well suited for industrial environments. Each unit features an 8-inch display that can be clearly viewed from distances of up to 400 feet, ensuring visibility across large production areas. The two-digit configuration allows values from 0 to 99, covering a wide range of common production counts and reference numbers.

Additional hardware and installation details include:

  • Two-digit static display with a maximum value of 99
  • 8-inch digit height for long-range visibility
  • Powered by a 120 VAC, 6-foot grounded power cord
  • Integrated C-channel mounting for secure installation
  • Suitable for mounting on concrete walls, posts, or other sturdy surfaces

The system also includes a 24-button wireless keypad controller, designed for reliable operation in industrial settings. This accessory enables fast updates, minimizes downtime, and keeps production teams aligned with current targets.

Overall, this custom DC-802 static display system provides Constellium Muscle Shoals with a durable, easy-to-use visual solution that improves communication on the production floor, supports consistent output, and helps ensure aluminum sheets and pallets are produced to the correct specifications every time.
