This custom DC-25T-UP-TERM Rock Climbing Up-Timer was built specifically for Rise-Up Climbing, a rock climbing recreation facility looking to accurately track how long it takes climbers to reach a designated goal on the wall. Designed for competitive and recreational climbing environments, this up-timer provides a clear, reliable way for climbers and staff to measure ascent times with precision and consistency.

The system operates using two wired remote switches that control the timer’s core functions. Both switches are fully redundant, meaning either one can be used to start, stop, or reset the timer. This setup allows climbers or staff to control the timer from multiple locations, making it ideal for climbing routes where timing needs to begin at the base and stop at the top. With a simple three-press activation sequence, the timer starts counting up from zero, pauses when the climber reaches the goal, and resets back to zero when ready for the next climb.

As the climber begins their ascent, pressing either remote switch starts the up-timer. The display immediately begins counting upward, tracking elapsed time with accuracy down to hundredths of a second. When the climber reaches the top of the wall or designated finish point, pressing either switch again stops the timer, clearly displaying the final time. A subsequent press on either switch resets the display to zero, allowing for quick turnover between climbers and making the system especially effective for competitive rock climbing and time-based challenges.

Key functional highlights include:

  • Redundant wired remote switches with identical Start, Stop, and Reset functionality
  • Three-press activation logic for intuitive operation
  • Accurate up-timing from zero to a maximum of 99 hours
  • Ideal for competitive climbing, training sessions, and recreational facilities

From a hardware standpoint, this model is built for durability and visibility in active environments. The enclosure is constructed from 14-gauge aluminum and finished with a black powder-coated casing for added protection and a clean, professional appearance. Measuring 9 inches wide, 4 inches tall, and 3 inches deep, the enclosure is compact while still housing a large, easy-to-read display.

The 2.3-inch digit display is viewable from distances of up to 120 feet, ensuring climbers and spectators can easily see the elapsed time. With four digits and built-in shift digit technology, the timer seamlessly transitions from minutes and seconds to hours and minutes, allowing it to count up to 99 hours in hundredths of a second without losing clarity.

Additional hardware features include:

  • 120–240 VAC power wall adapter with a 6-foot cord
  • Rear tear-slotted knockout drops for 4×4 or 2×4 electrical rough-in box mounting
  • Heavy-duty, momentary-actuated 60 mm red palm switches
  • Waterproof stainless-steel junction boxes with 35 feet of cabling each

The remote switches connect through terminal switches into an OPTO base board, which manages and controls all up-timer functions. This design ensures reliable signal handling and long-term performance, even in demanding recreational environments.

Overall, the DC-25T-UP-TERM Rock Climbing Up-Timer provides Rise-Up Climbing with a robust, easy-to-use timing solution that enhances competition, training, and engagement. Its precision timing, durable construction, and flexible control options make it an excellent choice for rock climbing facilities and other recreational venues that rely on accurate up-timing.
