Honeywell ordered a customized DC-Digital DC-60T-DN-IN-BCD-NEMA countdown timer through Vallen Distribution to provide a highly visible timing solution for a heating process. The large 6-inch LED display provides clear visibility from up to 300 feet, making it well suited for industrial environments where process timing needs to be easily monitored from a distance.

The DC-60T-DN-IN-BCD-NEMA features a rugged polycarbonate NEMA 4X enclosure with an IP66 rating. This enclosure helps protect the timer from dust and water, providing added durability for demanding industrial applications. The unit can also be mounted through holes located at each corner of the enclosure.

For Honeywell’s application, the timer was configured with internal BCD rotary switches using DC-Digital’s “Set n Forget” technology. The switches allow the countdown value to be manually set for each digit, with the timer repeatedly counting down from the programmed value until the switches are changed. This provides a simple way to maintain a consistent heating-process cycle without requiring a power backup to retain the programmed setting.

Honeywell also selected Start/Stop and Reset controls housed within the NEMA 4X enclosure. The timer supports multiple activation methods, including momentary contact closure, a 5–30 VDC source pulse, or a PNP source pulse. The Start/Pause and Reset functions allow operators to control the countdown as needed during the heating process.

To provide an audible indication when the countdown period was complete, the customized unit included a DC-EOPB-High ultra-high-intensity End of Period buzzer. The adjustable buzzer provides an output of approximately 85–95 decibels at 10 centimeters, giving operators an additional indication that the programmed timing cycle has reached 00:00.

The DC-60T-DN-IN-BCD-NEMA combines a large, sunlight-resistant red LED display, flexible control inputs, programmable BCD switches, and a durable NEMA 4X/IP66 enclosure. Honeywell’s customized configuration demonstrates how DC-Digital countdown timers can be adapted for industrial heating processes and other applications requiring reliable, highly visible process timing.
