JCPenney purchased three DC-Digital DC-40-2W-System clocks for its facility in Columbus, Ohio. The clocks provide synchronized time of day throughout the facility while using DC-Digital’s two-wire power and data system.

Two-Wire Clock System for Synchronized Time

The DC-40-2W-System is a 4-inch digital secondary clock designed to receive both power and synchronization data over two wires. The system uses 9600 baud 8N1 ASCII communication with polarity reversal, allowing time correction signals to travel through the same two wires that provide power to the clocks.

For JCPenney’s Columbus facility, synchronized clocks help keep employees and operations on the same schedule. The DC-40-2W-System can synchronize exactly to a connected master clock through a PS-24BD power supply and data interface.

The system can be synchronized using several DC-Digital master clock options, including EZ-Time, a Network Master, GPS-MI, or Mini-Master. This provides flexibility for facilities that need a dependable synchronized time system.

DC-40-2W-System Features

The DC-40-2W-System features four super-bright red 7-segment LED digits with an actual digit height of 4 inches. The display can be read from distances of up to 200 feet, making it suitable for manufacturing, retail, commercial, institutional, and other large indoor facilities.

The clock operates on 24 VDC at 300 mA and is housed in a durable 14-gauge aluminum enclosure with a fingerprint-resistant black powder coating. NEMA 4X polycarbonate and IP66 aluminum enclosure options are also available for applications requiring additional environmental protection.

The standard enclosure measures 16.25 inches wide by 6.75 inches high by 3 inches deep and can be mounted using a 4 x 4 or 2 x 4 electrical rough-in box. Optional handle and tripod mounting configurations are also available.

JCPenney has been purchasing products from Industrial Electronic Service and DC-Digital since 2006. The order of three DC-40-2W-System clocks adds to that longstanding relationship and provides the Columbus, Ohio facility with synchronized digital time displays.
