The Toronto Zoo selected the DC-Digital DC-80T-UTW Wireless Count Up/Down Timer to enhance its cheetah exhibit by giving visitors a visual demonstration of the incredible speed of one of nature’s fastest land animals. Capable of accelerating to more than 60 miles per hour in just three seconds, cheetahs are renowned for their explosive bursts of speed when pursuing prey. The digital timer provides an engaging way for guests to see exactly how quickly a cheetah can retrieve its meal during feeding demonstrations.
Designed for applications where highly visible timing is essential, the DC-80T-UTW combines versatile timing functions with rugged construction for dependable performance in virtually any environment. The display can count up to 99 hours from hundredths of a second or count down from 99 hours using shift-digit technology. When timing is not in use, the display automatically functions as a time-of-day clock, providing additional value throughout the day.
The included RF wireless handheld remote allows operators to control the display from distances up to 1,500 feet, making it ideal for animal exhibits, sporting events, production facilities, educational demonstrations, races, and other applications where remote operation is beneficial. Its high-intensity LED digits provide outstanding visibility from up to 400 feet away, ensuring spectators can easily read the display from across large viewing areas.
