At DC-Digital, durability and presentation are built into every product from the very beginning. Our DC-40 aluminum 4-inch, 4-digit enclosures go through a detailed preparation and finishing process designed to deliver a professional appearance while standing up to demanding industrial environments.

Before powder coating begins, every aluminum enclosure is thoroughly cleaned and inspected to remove oils, contaminants, and any surface residue that could interfere with coating adhesion. This preparation stage is critical to ensuring a consistent, long-lasting finish that performs reliably over time.

Once prepared, the enclosures are sent to a local powder coating facility located less than three miles from the DC-Digital production plant. Keeping this process local helps reduce transportation costs while maintaining close quality control throughout production.

After extensive testing of various coating materials and surface textures, DC-Digital selected a textured TUX black powder coating for the DC-40 enclosure series. This finish was chosen for several important reasons:

  • Excellent durability in industrial environments
  • Resistance to scratches and everyday wear
  • Fingerprint-resistant textured surface
  • Professional appearance for long-term installations
  • Surface compatibility for labels and identification markings

The textured TUX black finish not only improves the visual appearance of the enclosure but also helps maintain a cleaner look in high-contact applications where fingerprints and smudges are common.

Aluminum itself provides an excellent balance of strength and lightweight construction, making it ideal for industrial electronic enclosures. The standard DC-40 enclosure offers IP-60 protection, while upgraded NEMA 4X or AL-IP66 enclosure options are available for applications requiring additional environmental protection.

From cleaning and inspection to powder coating and final assembly, every DC-Digital enclosure is built with attention to detail and designed for dependable operation in real-world conditions.
