A Custom Countdown Solution for Professional Theater

The production required a compact, highly visible countdown timer that could be positioned discreetly throughout the stage without distracting the audience. The DC-10T-DN was selected as the foundation because of its compact size, bright LED display, and reliable countdown functionality.

To meet the production’s specific requirements, the timers were modified with wireless communication capabilities, allowing one master controller to synchronize multiple countdown displays positioned around the stage. This ensured that performers and stagehands received identical countdown information regardless of their location backstage or on set.

Wireless Synchronization Across the Entire Production

A single wireless master controller communicates with four additional countdown timers, providing synchronized operation throughout the production. This eliminates the need for long cable runs while ensuring every timer remains perfectly coordinated during each performance.

The wireless configuration also provides greater flexibility during setup and teardown, making it ideal for touring productions that require equipment to be installed quickly in different venues.

Battery-Powered for Portable Operation

Each customized timer includes an integrated battery pack that supplies power throughout the performance, allowing the units to operate without relying on nearby electrical outlets. Built for Accurate Timing

The DC-10T-DN Countdown Timer is designed for applications where precise timing is essential. The timer counts down from 99 hours to hundredths of a second and retains the last programmed value even after power has been removed, allowing operators to resume operation quickly.

Standard control functions include:

• Reset to Last Value
• Reset to Zero
• Set Minutes
• Set Hours

At the completion of the countdown, the display flashes to clearly indicate the end of the timing period. Optional end-of-period features are also available, including count-up overage timing, ANDON lights, audible tones, and relay outputs.

Compact Design with Bright LED Visibility

Despite its compact footprint of only 6.75 inches wide by 3.75 inches high, the DC-10T-DN features four super-bright 1-inch red LED digits that provide clear visibility from up to 25 feet away.

The durable black powder-coated aluminum enclosure resists fingerprints and is suitable for desktop, wall, or optional tripod mounting. A NEMA 4X enclosure is also available for more demanding environments.
