Simmers Crane utilizes three custom DC-156T-UP-W wireless digital up timers to accurately monitor how long products remain submerged in solution baths during critical production processes. Precise timing is essential for maintaining efficient crane operations and ensuring consistent production cycles, making these large-format timers an ideal solution for tracking dwell times at multiple bath locations.

Each DC-156T-UP-W features six large 15-inch high LED digits and operates independently, allowing three separate timing processes to be monitored simultaneously. The timers are wirelessly connected to a single controller, which accepts contact closure inputs from an external control source. In this application, the switching signals are believed to originate from a PLC, enabling automatic operation of the timers as products move through the production line.

When a crane positions a product into a specific solution bath, the corresponding timer can be started wirelessly. As the product is removed, the timer can be stopped and reset before beginning the next cycle. This arrangement allows operators to accurately measure and control immersion times while maximizing production efficiency.

The wireless communication system operates at 900 MHz and provides reliable transmission distances of up to 1,500 feet, making it suitable for large industrial facilities. Although the displays are installed indoors, the units were constructed with waterproof enclosures to provide additional protection in demanding manufacturing environments.

Each timer displays hours, minutes, and seconds and counts upward to 99 hours. The displays are housed in durable extruded aluminum enclosures and operate from standard 110 VAC power.
