Saucon Valley School District recently purchased a complete set of DC-Digital DC-300P portable football play clocks for use on the field. Designed for large outdoor athletic venues, the DC-300P combines 30-inch LED digits, long-range wireless control, battery operation, and heavy-duty portable carts into a complete play clock system.

Portable Play Clocks for Football

The DC-300P is designed to provide highly visible countdown timing for football and other sports applications. The 30-inch red LED digits can be viewed from distances of up to 1,500 feet, making the clocks suitable for stadiums, athletic fields, and large outdoor venues.

Each display is mounted to a high-strength aluminum cart with casters and a pull arm, allowing the play clocks to be transported and positioned around the field without requiring a permanent installation.

Battery-Powered Operation

Saucon Valley’s DC-300P play clocks are designed for portable operation without requiring a direct connection to facility power. Heavy-duty sealed 12-volt deep-cycle lead-acid batteries provide a minimum of 8 hours of operation, with chargers included as part of the system.

The displays use a rugged extruded aluminum enclosure with an IP-66 outdoor rating, providing protection for the electronics and LED display in wet outdoor environments. The black powder-coated enclosure is also designed to resist fingerprints and withstand regular field use.

Long-Range Wireless Control

The DC-300P uses a 900 MHz RF wireless handheld controller with a LoRa radio-frequency control module operating from 902–928 MHz. The wireless system allows the play clocks to be controlled from the field without requiring cables between the operator and the displays.

The programmable system provides three user-programmable countdown timers, allowing different preset times to be configured for the specific requirements of the application.

The handheld remote includes three reset functions, along with controls for setting the programmed timer and turning the display on or off. The wireless control system also incorporates continuous fault checking to help maintain reliable timing operation.

Built for Outdoor Athletic Fields

The DC-300P displays feature high-power 5mm oval red LEDs with a sunlight-resistant design and a 110-degree by 40-degree viewing angle. The 30-inch digits provide the visibility needed for large football fields and stadium environments.

The aluminum carts are constructed from 1/4-inch industrial-grade aluminum with casters and a pull arm. The carts are designed to resist rust while providing a practical way to move and position the large displays.

The complete display measures approximately 39-3/4 inches wide by 34-1/2 inches tall by 3-1/4 inches deep, while the cart measures approximately 48 inches wide by 48 inches deep and can extend to 96 inches tall or lower to 76 inches for transport and storage.

Adaptable for Multiple Sports

Although the DC-300P is designed primarily as a football play clock, the system can also be customized for other athletic applications. The displays can be configured for use as lacrosse clocks, providing schools and athletic organizations with a versatile timing solution that can support multiple sports.

Saucon Valley recently purchased DC-Digital DC-300P.  The play clocks are on a completely portable, wheeled, cart The clocks can run on batteries a minimum of 8 hours and use long range 900 Mhz RF wireless handheld controller.  The DC-300P have a viewing distance of 1500 ft.  The digits on the DC-300P are 30 inches high.  The play clocks can be customized to work as lacrosse clocks as well.
