Maintaining precise timing throughout a multi-stage chemical processing operation is essential for producing consistent, high-quality finished products. In manufacturing environments where components pass through multiple chemical baths, even small timing deviations can lead to unacceptable finishes, increased scrap, and unnecessary production costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To improve process accuracy and reduce waste, DC-Digital designed and manufactured a custom timer system for Snap-On’s<\/a> eight-stage chemical bath operation. Each chemical bath requires its own unique cycle time, making reliable and repeatable timing critical to maintaining product quality before final inspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed for Multi-Stage Chemical Processing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The custom timer system allows every chemical bath to operate with its own independently programmed countdown time. White vinyl captions identify each timer with its corresponding bath process, allowing operators and technicians to quickly recognize the correct timing station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each timer is equipped with rotary switches mounted directly on the enclosure, enabling process technicians to easily program the required cycle time for each individual bath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Separate Operator and Technician Controls<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To improve workflow and maintain process control, DC-Digital separated programming functions from daily operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Process technicians configure each timer using the rotary switches, while machine operators simply start the timing cycle using dedicated push buttons mounted inside a separate NEMA 4 enclosure. This design helps prevent accidental changes to programmed process times while providing operators with a simple, convenient interface during production.<\/p>\n\n\n

Improved Visibility Throughout the Production Area<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Each timer features bright 2.3-inch LED digits that can be viewed from distances up to 120 feet. Large, highly visible displays allow machine operators, technicians, supervisors, and management personnel to easily monitor process status across the production floor without needing to approach each station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
