Designed with both function and clarity in mind, this unit helps streamline operations by keeping precise track of wait times and throughput in fast-paced environments like drive-through lanes. This custom configuration combines two core display elements\u2014<strong>a red timer and a green counter<\/strong>\u2014within a single standard 256-size housing, offering a compact but highly visible solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Primary Functions and Use Case<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This device is tailored for tracking <strong>how many vehicles have passed through a drive-through<\/strong> and <strong>how long each customer has been at the service window<\/strong>. The counter shows the number of customers served since the last reset or power cycle, while the timer tracks the wait time for the current customer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Timer (Left, Red LEDs):<\/strong> Displays in MM:SS format and counts up from zero.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Counter (Right, Green LEDs):<\/strong> Counts from 0 to 99 before cycling back to zero.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These two separate but synchronized systems allow employees to monitor operations in real time with minimal confusion\u2014made easier by the distinct color contrast between the timer and counter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Functional Controls<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The system is designed to be operated either manually or via external triggers, such as vehicle-activated hoses placed on the drive-through path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Start Function:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increments the customer counter by one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Starts the timer for the current customer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stop Function:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stops and resets the timer to zero (but <strong>does not<\/strong> affect the counter).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If less than 10 seconds has passed, the timer will <em>not<\/em> reset to prevent false triggers from closely spaced vehicles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Zero Reset Function:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Resets both the timer and the customer counter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ideal for hourly or shift-based tracking of throughput.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This system accounts for real-world behavior in a drive-through: vehicles may overlap or trigger sensors too early. That\u2019s why the 10-second delay safeguard is built in\u2014to ensure the first customer has fully cleared the area before a new timer instance begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Controls and Hardware Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>start and stop inputs<\/strong> are managed through an <strong>opto-isolated baseboard<\/strong> mounted behind the rear plate. Although the customer does not currently plan to use a remote reset, we\u2019ve still wired it into the terminal block to provide flexibility for future integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Local Control Buttons:<\/strong> Stop and reset buttons are mounted directly on top of the enclosure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Remote Inputs (via opto baseboard):<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Terminal 1: Start<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Terminal 2: Stop<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Terminal 3: Reset<br><em>(Inputs accept dry contact or PNP 5\u201330V signals.)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Build Details<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Digit Size:<\/strong> 2.3&#8243; segmented LED digits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Case Construction:<\/strong> Powder-coated aluminum extrusion for durability and visibility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mounting:<\/strong> Two teardrop-shaped mounting tabs on the rear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Power Supply:<\/strong> 120V AC to 12V DC adapter (0.7A)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In Summary<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The DC-256-T-UP-C-TERM is a streamlined, reliable tool for any drive-through looking to improve customer service tracking and operational awareness.
